Guided tour of the Abbey of the Three Fountains
Saturday, October 24th
The Apostle Paul is a key character in the origins of Christendom, his presence in the city is connected to many shrines which are a bit off the beaten track and a good excuse to “go the extra mile”. The charming and silent Abbey of the Three Fountains is the location of the last jail and of the execution of the Saint, and one of the most spiritual venues in Rome today.
Our tour will last approx. 1.5 hrs. to visit the three churches of the Abbey and learn about the history of the Sanctuary, the periods of abandonment and those of renovation. Another interesting aspect concerns the Trappist Monks who live there. They are widely known for their production of beer and chocolate which can be purchased in the local shop.
Please confirm with the Association britishexpatsinitaly@gmail.com if you wish to attend. The deadline to book and pay is October 17th.
The fee for the tour is €13.00 for members and €15.00 for non-members, payable in advance no later than October 17th.
